چکیده
Linseed (Linum usitatissimum L.) is an important oilseed and fiber crop grown both for its seed as well fiber. It widely cultivated in Northern India during the Rabi season. It suffers from a variety of diseases among which Alternaria blight caused by lini one most yield limiting factors India. The efficacy botanicals (neem, ginger, garlic, bougainvilla eucalyptus extract), bio-agents (T. harzianum T. viride) chemical fungicides (Mancozeb (0.2%), Carbendazim etc. were tested against in-vitro conditions. result vitro studies revealed that Neem extract @ 150 ppm significantly reduced mycelial growth Alternarialini 68.6 percent inhibition followed Garlic bulb Ginger rhizome extract@ 65.45% 58.65% respectively. Among fungicide at 500 proved to be effective inhibiting radial pathogen with 100% over control Mancozeb showed 93.94% under

Genetic Basis of Variation in Linseed (Linum usitatissimum L.) Cultivars
373 Abstract: This investigation was conducted at the University of wales in 1991-1994. The work described in this paper concerned with the genetic basis of variation in important characters of linseed (Linum usitatissimum L.) A 8x8 full diallel cross including reciprocals was carried out using the cultivars Linda, Lidgate, Cristal, Antares, Barbara, Blue-Chip, Norman and McGregor and eight cha...
متن کاملGenomic regions underlying agronomic traits in linseed (Linum usitatissimum L.) as revealed by association mapping‡
The extreme climate of the Canadian Prairies poses a major challenge to improve yield. Although it is possible to breed for yield per se, focusing on yield-related traits could be advantageous because of their simpler genetic architecture. The Canadian flax core collection of 390 accessions was genotyped with 464 simple sequence repeat markers, and phenotypic data for nine agronomic traits incl...
متن کاملFlax (Linum usitatissimum L
The archaeological evidence of flax cultivation dates back to >6000 BC and it is considered as one of the oldest and most useful crops. Components of flax have diverse uses. Cultivar development of flax is currently focused on enhancing the oil content and nutritional value to meet the demand of nutraceutical market supply, as an alternate source of fish oil, a rich source of eicosapentaenoic a...
متن کاملOccurrence of Alternaria alternata causing Alternaria blight in pigeonpea in India
Blight symptoms on pigeonpea were observed in alarming proportion since 2009 onwards in Andhra Pradesh state of India. Alternaria blight infected pigeonpea plants were collected from Andhra Pradesh state of India to isolate and characterize the pathogen. The isolate proved pathogenic on pigeonpea cultivar ICPL 87119. Genetic characteristics were analyzed based on the sequence of the rDNA-intern...
متن کاملOccurrence of Leaf Blight on Cosmos Caused by Alternaria cosmosa in Korea
In 2011, a leaf blight disease was observed on cosmos (Cosmos bipinnatus) leaves in Nonsan, Korea. The causal pathogen was isolated and identified based on morphological and molecular approaches. Morphological characteristics of the pathogen matched well with the Alternaria cosmosa and also easily distinguishable from Alternaria zinniae reported from cosmos seeds by producing branched beak. Phy...
